Whilst out there I managed a couple of rounds in Vilamoura. Playing the Old, Victoria and Pinhal managing to wear it well at Pinhal and Victoria courses hopefully spreading the Bunker Mentality brand in Europe.
May has seen the start of The Hertfordshire Tigers League for which I Captain my club and we have won both our home games and lost our only away game to East Herts who have won 6 out of 6 so far.
I am also captaining the Herts Cup team this year which consists of 4 Cat 2 and 4 cat 3 players won our first match 3-1 at home to Bishops Stortford and have been drawn away at Abridge in the next round which is a course I’ve always wanted to play.
June has been a strange month for golfing weather with some very heavy rain mixed with some beautiful sunshine not unlike April to be honest. Last Friday 16 of us from our club travelled by coach to Remedy Oak for a much anticipated round (we have been trying to get a game here for 2 years) and with it hosting Open Qualifying Monday the course was expected to be in great condition. Unfortunately the weather was atrocious and the course was closed so a 230 mile round trip for breakfast and back to Aldenham where the sun had been shining all day for 9 holes!!
We are due back at Remedy Oak in July so will let you know how it plays.
