HOW POLYGIENE WORKS

Perspiration is naturally occurring for any physical activity. We sweat in order to keep cool, especially during the spring and summer months. Sweat itself doesn't smell, but once mixed with clothing, it creates a warm, moist environment in which odour causing bacteria thrive and grow.

It’s the bad odour released by the bacteria that embeds itself in to the garment, causing an increased bad odour over time. The vast majority of time, washing alone does not kill the bacteria which leads to the deterioration of your clothing over time.

Polygiene prevents the growth of odour causing bacteria, thus inhibiting the smell associated with sweating.

POLYGIENE ODOUR CONTROL TECHNOLOGY

Polygiene prevents the growth of odour-causing bacteria at the source, permanently. To do this, Polygiene uses low concentrations of silver salt (silver chloride), which has antimicrobial properties and is naturally present in water and soil, to safely eliminate the ability for bacteria and fungi to grow.

The permanent treatment is applied at the finishing stages of textile production and field and lab tests show a high level of odour control beyond the usual lifespan of a garment. This lifespan odour control is possible as the technology is bound and permanently integrated in the fabric and will not wash out.

Polygiene silver salt technology is only active on the textiles itself and with a heritage in the healthcare sector Polygiene has applied its expertise and testing to ensure that there is no affect on the natural bacterial flora of the skin. Polygiene is not nanosilver.
